FOCUS: November/December 2025

FOCUS • NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2025

Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church

By Julie Peterson, Coordinator

to 55 to 70 attendees. Morning activities

included gentle chair exercise with

Gillian Roebuck, chair tap dancing with

Mimi Ingrey, and art experiences that

let our creative side shine. Afternoon

entertainment included a wide variety

of musicians from vocalists Syria T.

Berry, Mike Kistner, and Cris Hussey to

a performance by Barbershop Quartet

What–4? and Duo Treble, with musicians

Kristi Diggins and Dean Boysen on

clarinet and trumpet, respectively. We

are truly grateful for our ability to provide

engaging activities and uplifting, quality

entertainment. The many people who

have generously supported Thursday

Fellowship with their time, talent, and

financial gifts, and also with their love,

have helped the program grow and

provide a valuable ministry to many

seniors in our community.

tiOur daily schedule is as follows:

• 11:00 a.m. “Meet and Greet” with

snacks and beverages.

• 11:15 a.m. Creative arts and crafts,

activity, or light exercise program.

• 12:00 p.m. Lunch.

• 12:45 p.m. Entertainment.

• 1:30 p.m. Program ends.

We’re so grateful to our many

volunteers who make our program

run and to our guests

who participate and

without whom our

program would

not exist. Come

and join us for

some holiday fun.

olunteers have worked hard this

fall to create a warm, welcoming

setting for the scheduled activities

and programs. Volunteers greeted

and welcomed guests into a festively

decorated room and served a light

snack and beverage. The room is

always buzzing with excitement

with guests and volunteers greeting

each other and engaging in lively

conversation. Guests are drawn to

Thursday Fellowship to explore the

gentle exercise classes, the morning

art experiences, and the quality

afternoon entertainment, but the

essential value is the engagement,

fellowship with one another, and

friendships that are formed and

enhanced by these experiences.

This fall the program started with a

bang and weekly attendance grew
